Karen
has worked with groups of all sizes, from large groups of 50+ to individualized
instruction, and has designed
instruction for the novice users as well as the advanced technical pros.
Her educational background in instructional design gives her a solid, structured
approach to training while her personality helps to making learning fun.
Graphic
Design
Karen was thrown into graphic design while developing training materials
and programs for software users. Today, she has expertise in Adobe Photoshop,
PageMaker, InDesign, FrameMaker, and Illustrator. She has honed her skills
working to develop client brochures, website graphics and navigation structures
and other promotional pieces. She
has also developed and produced camera-ready copy for several textbooks.
Karen has spent much time optimizing graphics for the web and she is currently
exploring the wonders of digital camera photography.
Technology & Website
Development
Karen
is the “techno troublemaker” of the Learnovation LLC team, always looking
for new ways to integrate technology into the plan. Karen has turned her
skills to web design and development and has created award winning websites.
She has worked extensively with Front Page and Dreamweaver to develop sites
that are both functional and appealing. She also works with clients to help
them develop the skills to support their websites at the levels they choose,
whether it’s updating a graphic themselves or changing text. She works with
clients to assess their needs and help them design the site, then she takes
their ideas and turns them into a finished site.
Career
Design
Karen is the "how to" specialist of the career portfolio.
Over the past five years, Karen has spent time refining the mechanics of
the career portfolio. The three
hour emergency instructions were developed from field research conducted
by Learnovation®, LLC.
Karen has conducted workshops on the career portfolio process across the country
for educational groups, students and hospitality industry recruiters. Karen
brings the technology aspect to the career skill sets of the career planning
process. Her innovations have created
the electronic portfolio and the computer layout component of the career portfolio
process.

Karen
has a background in corporate training, from the design and development of
materials and documentation to classroom and onsite delivery. She worked as
a corporate trainer for a software development company for seven years where
she designed and developed training programs, materials, and documentation
for several different products.
